Created in 2015 by founder Arslan, The Gainz started as an Instagram account known for its aggregation of online content and Internet memes. Today, @thegainz has more than 1.5 million followers on Instagram. The brand is best known for its viral content creation across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Its focus on gym and sex-related entertainment with longer form cause-related campaigns inspired the apparel and merchandise line.

Since its launch, The Gainz has posted more than 15,000 videos and memes and generated in excess of 1.3 billion views on Instagram. The account grew exponentially when a @thegainz meme was featured in a Buzzfeed article.[3]
